I was lucky to travel from Texas up to Vermont to shoot some interior design projects of long time colleague and friend, Holly Hickey Moore. She had several projects lined up and it was an absolute pleasure photographing them all over the week I was in town.
Our first project was a charming contemporary, colonial house located in Shelburne. This airy and bright living room turned out to be a great start to the day.
“After a recent move, this young family wished for the interior of their new home to accommodate their relaxed but busy lifestyle. Furnishings and decor needed to be durable and able to withstand spills and heavy use from a toddler and two animals. The layout and flow of the house was perfect for the family, but new furnishings and updated lighting were brought in so the home’s traditional aesthetic could lean more modern. Fresh colors, textures and patterns were used to create different moods and functions for each space – little retreats for the family to enjoy for years to come.” – Holly Hickey Moore
One of my favorite things about working with Holly is her love of styling the shoot and taking the time to get vignettes of the details. It makes such a difference and really tells the story of the space.
I love how Holly embraces the use of color and has such a great eye for combining different styles seamlessly.
Fresh flowers enhance any room. Once again, Holly nailed the choices on the styling.
When shooting interior design photographs, I love when I’m able to incorporate people into the shot. I think it gives it a sense of scale and space that otherwise might be lost. Here, Holly was kind enough to step in.
One of my favorite things about traveling out of town for assignments is getting to see the different styles outside of Texas. Vermont was so beautiful in the summer – can’t wait to get back!
